How to print it at a store

  1. Download the 4 × 6 print sheet from this page.
  2. Upload it to the store's photo website or app (CVS Photo, Walgreens Photo, Walmart Photo, or a local photo lab), or use their in-store kiosk.
  3. Choose 4 × 6 print size and turn off auto-crop or "enhance" if the store offers it.
  4. Pick it up (often the same day). A single 4 × 6 print usually costs well under $1, much less than store passport photos.
  5. Cut out the photos exactly along the edges with scissors or a paper trimmer.

Printing at home

Use 4 × 6 photo paper and print at actual size / 100%, never "fit to page". Check one photo with a ruler: a 2 × 2 photo must measure exactly 2 inches (51 mm) on each side.

  1. Take a photo. Stand in front of a plain white wall in good light and face the camera.
  2. Fit it. Add the photo above, choose the size, then zoom and drag so the face fits the guide.
