A signature upload is small, but it's rejected surprisingly often. You don't need a scanner; a phone camera works well if you follow a few steps.
1. Sign properly
- Use plain white paper, not lined or coloured paper.
- Use a black pen (or blue if the form allows it), not pencil.
- Sign in your normal handwriting. Some exams, like RRB, don't accept signatures in block or capital letters.
- Leave space around the signature so it's easy to crop.
2. Take the photo
- Use daylight or a bright room, and avoid your phone's shadow falling on the paper.
- Hold the phone directly above the paper, not at an angle.
- Turn off the flash, which can create a shiny spot.
3. Crop and resize
Crop close to the signature with a small margin on all sides. Then set the size the form asks for. Pick your exam on the exam resizer page and the size is applied for you.
| Exam | Signature requirement |
|---|---|
| IBPS (PO, Clerk, RRB) | 140 × 60 px, 10–20 KB |
| CTET | 3.5 × 1.5 cm, 3–30 KB |
| RRB Railway | JPG, 30–49 KB, at least 140 × 60 px |
| SSC | JPG, 10–20 KB |

Photo and signature in one image
Some forms ask for the photo and signature together in a single image. The photo + signature joiner places the signature below or beside the photo and keeps the file under your KB limit.
